I use the flood light option most of the time, but when I need to see something from a distance I dial the lens to spot. It also works with the Powercase. The Powercase charges and stores the light an headband in a small case. You won't be disappointed. I don’t like the 3 times u have to push button to get the brightest setting. I understand it is blinding so some people might want lower setting working around other people.
